A cool picture of a Gecko on a mountain trail we climbed near Beijing. I'm really happy with how this picture turned out!

Walking in distortion
Taken at the "cloud gate" in Chicago, this picture reminds me of how we all seem to be going places quickly, but do we really understand where we are? wow... deep.
Taken with my Sony DSC-P100.

Canadian International Auto Show 2008
Taken at the Canadian International Auto Show back in Feb 2008. I love the way the colours turned out in this one.

Vatican City
I just saw "Angels and Demons" at the movies, and I decided to post a picture I took at Vatican City during my trip there last summer. Taken with my Sony DSC-P100.

Spring is here
In honour of spring's arrival, this photo captured some cherry blossoms floating in the water. Taken in Macro mode on the SD1100 IS.
Welcome to michaelschaus.ca
Hi, and welcome to michaelschaus.ca, my personal space on the web. I decided to use this blog as a venue to share some of my photography. I'm not a professional photographer by any means, nor do I play one on TV; but I do enjoy taking pictures from time to time. With the help of of my friends with more experience in this area (such as Rick at http://www.rickweiss.ca) I have been getting better and I hope to keep developing my skills in this exciting hobby.
My equipment is very amateur, and I don't have any professional level gear. All my stuff is done with a point and shoot, sometimes a tripod, and on the rare occasion: my camera phone.
I currently use a Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS. But alot of the photos I will share will be from the past, taken with my Sony DSC-P100 or my Sony Ericcson K790a.
Anyway, enjoy my new presence on the web.
